I have expertise in several fields: Electrochemistry, Analytical and Material chemistry, Biochemistry and electrochemistry engineering.
Electrochemistry: I have used various electrochemical methods: CV, Potentiometry Pulse techniques (SWV, DPV), stripping (ANV, CSV), SECM. Furthermore I have investigated electrochemical phenomena such as UPD, Reductive desorption and electron transfer (ET) kinetics.
Analytical Chemistry: I helped develop a new student lab-course in advanced analytical chemistry gaining experience in instrumental methods such as UV-Vis, HPLC, GC, AA, ICP-MS and NMR. Moreover I have expertise in analytical electrochemistry after developing several ISE’s.
Electrochemistry Engineering & Microfluidics: I am an expert in the field of flow-electrochemistry were I developed several electrochemical flow cells (including 2 patents): A) As part of the EU Hydronet project I developed and an Electrochemical flow cell as well as an electrochemical flow system. Our flow system was integrated in our electrochemical remote sensor. B) As part of my post-doctorate fellowship I developed three types of flow cells designs for combined electrochemical and spectroscopic measurements. These cells are now commercially available via our company E-Innovation. Furthermore I developed the 1st electrochemical flow cell designed for exchangeable ultramicroelectrodes (UMEs).
Material and Surface Chemistry: I have studied surface modifications using polymer coatings, metallic nanoparticles(NPs) and sol-gel modifications.
Biochemistry: As part of my post-doctoral research I am investigating unilamellar vesicles in various methods from electrochemistry to spectroscopy (fluorescence, DLS, digital microscopy). Furthermore I am synthesizing GUV’s and modifying them with different antibodies.
